A Sad Farewell

It has been over two and a half years of giggling, sharing, learning, making new friends, having new experiences, going places, career changes, and the basic ups and downs of life. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be invited into your homes and your lives. We really do feel as though we have “Girlfriends” all around the globe. It is with a heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to all of this.

There are many reasons for the change but mostly it was the distance that made it hard for the three of us to get together and schedules that made it difficult for us to coordinate film dates. Leah’s research for the treatment of Leukemia has taken a dramatically positive turn so she is spending a lot more time in the lab on top of the fact that she is a wife and mother of two very active young boys. Johanna’s professional photography plus juggling the schedule of two active young daughters has her in the constant “Mom Taxi” mode. Donna also has a busy family and has been spending a substantial amount of time designing her products, teaching and working on other new “top secret” stuff.

 Though many of you may not know this, we did all our own film editing, paid for most of the prizes and also for the postage for mailing out the prizes to the winners. This on top of the cost of keeping the website and blog going were a reoccurring expense that we couldn’t justify any longer. We LOVE doing the filming, we LOVE connecting with our “cyber-Girlfriends” but when we discussed the affect on our families, our only choice was to step away from the Girlfriends for a while.

You can still connect with each of us on facebook and we will continue to do our best to get together every now and then but the blog will be ending and regularly scheduled videos will be going as well. The YouTube account will remain open so if we get new videos, that is where you will be able to find us.

We wish you the very best and we are so grateful to have shared this portion of our journey with you.

It has been so much fun and I really do feel so honored that you took the time to watch our little video blogs :) I am sure that we will do a video here and there, and when we do, we will announce it on facebook & our blogs.
I am sure all of you understand the juggling act that moms accomplish every day. Although I am very happily divorced :)...the responisbility of earning an income for my daughters and myself is an every day pressure. I often work 2 or 3 jobs in one day to keep the ends meeting - do not misunderstand me; I feel blessed to be offered work, and work that I often can do on flexible days/hours. Since doing the videos did not pay- I often had to pass on participating so I could go work.
But..the videos take a toll and I feel so much guilt over not helping Donna and Leah edit/post/manage the blog and pulling my 1/3 of the weight.
I had considered the possiblilty of the 3 of us doing a last video together, but I think it would be too hard, so I never even suggested it. I will miss the videos, but we will carry on via blog/facebook :) cheers! Johanna

I am sad to see you go, but I completely understand. I would do the same, and I think we all have had to give up a few things in our own lives. Life happens and you have to be in it, especially when it's family. I wish you all the best, for you all and all of your families.
