Hello everyone. Today is our 3rd week of Candy Cane Friday tutorials. Today we are showing tips and techniques for Holiday Gifts. We begin with Samantha's cute little bread and recipe present using Pink Persimmon Recipe stamps. You can win the Pink Persimmon prize by going to Samantha's blog HERE.
Johanna shows us some great ideas for quick and easy handmade gifts. One of her projects is a doggie treat bag:
Here's the recipe for the treats
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup oatmeal ground up in food processor
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup finely chopped turkey jerky
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 cups finely grated carrots
- Mix everything together. Add more broth or flour if needed.
- Roll out and cut with cookie cutter.
- Bake at 350 deg for 10 minutes. Turn off heat then let sit in oven till treats are hard.

Loved all the ideas! Copied down the dog treat recipe - our Pom is anxious for us to give it a try. :) My girls are anxious to make them up in the stockings and pass them out to their dog friends in the neighborhood. Thanks for sharing - it's added some exciting new ideas to our Christmas festivities.

Ladies, I came across your blog recently and I would just like to say that you have inspired me with your wonderful tutorials and projects. I especially love the flowers made with papers. They are beautiful! Your "University" is a great idea as well. Looking forward to taking a class or two in the future.

I LOVE the idea of frozen cookie dough gifts!!
Posted by: marla H. | December 12, 2009 at 09:20 AM
Love these ideas girls. I never thought of the cookie dough before. You always see the ingredients in a jar with a recipe card, but I love the idea of the cookie dough. It's just so do-able. It really is hard to come up with so many cookies. I love making them but to just make the dough and decorate some little funky buckets is a little easier, and I love the look of it. I also would love to gift some little loaves. I love my loaf pan.
Great ideas. Looking forward to next weeks :)
